iRecover US is the sister company to iRecover Treatment Centers in Canada — founded by recovery veterans who have spent decades changing lives. We bring that proven model to South Dakota, with two locations and a world-class team dedicated to lasting recovery.

Our story

17 years of proven results, now in South Dakota

iRecover.US was founded by Board President and recovery veteran Jim Gray, and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Hilgard Goosen. Jim has been sober since 1989 and has been transforming lives in the addiction recovery field since 2006. Dr. Goosen brings decades of clinical expertise in general medicine, specialized procedures, and addiction treatment.

Together, they expanded the successful iRecover Canada model — established in 2007 — into the United States, opening our Howard, South Dakota residential facility and more recently our Sioux Falls Behavioral Health centre. iRecover US is built on the same evidence-based, compassionate approach that has helped thousands of participants and their families across Canada.

Jim Gray

Jim is the founder and owner of iRecover Treatment Centers in Canada and co-owner of iRecover US. He has been sober since 1989 and in the recovery field since 2006, having a profound impact on thousands of participants and their families. Jim is also featured in the "Coffee with Jim" video series on YouTube, where he shares advice from decades in recovery.

Dr. Hilgard Goosen

Dr. Goosen is a dedicated physician with expertise spanning general medicine, specialized procedures, and addiction treatment. He met Jim Gray through a shared passion for aviation in 2018, became Medical Director for iRecover Canada, then co-founded iRecover US. He leads with a commitment to innovative, personalized treatment and faith-based care.

Deon has been working with iRecover since 2011 in Canada. It is a great honor for him to bring the iRecover ethos to the United States. He is inspired daily by seeing families heal and reclaiming their loved ones, supported by a world-class team of clinical and medical professionals.

Ali has been a nurse since 2014 with experience across behavioral health and addiction. She is passionate about treating the whole person and is actively pursuing her Master's degree. She describes iRecover as a family-like environment where she grows personally and professionally every day.
